Oh my god, I’m so sorry. So sorry. It takes over your life and makes you crazy. I know. It’s not a sustainable way to live. I still have someone else clean my house every two weeks (not that I’m not cleaning constantly as it is).

The thing is, you have no idea how Arlo will be sleeping by the summer. It might be shitty, but it will definitely be different than how it is now, and probably better in some ways.

I feel for you, mama. The thirty-minute nap days with hours spent trying and failing to nurse them down are . . . there are just no words for the hell that are those days. The mental havoc they wreak, the physical toll they take. Lots of love to you. Hang in there.

Out of the many reason why I will not have more children, this is the top one. Thinking about sleep in that first year still makes me want to go out for a pack of cigarettes and never come back.

Oh man. You are in the trenches. Deep. I had an almost visceral reaction to this post. For what it’s worth, E was a terrible sleeper up until six months, and has since been great (or so I see now, compared to his sister). I hope Arlo turns a corner. I recently read a glowing rec for this doodad–ever heard of it? I wish I’d known about it last year.

Oh God yes. I can relate. The money pit follows you wherever you go. It would have found you in NYC too. Besides, you want to be strapping grocery bags to a stroller in the freezing ass cold? Been to a laundry mat lately?

I hear you.

I hope you get more than three hours of broken sleep tonight and the plugged duct leaves. I have this serum for plugged ducts called Happy Ducts that I got at Whole Foods. It worked for me every time I used it this past spring. Let me know if you want me to drop it off tomorrow (Sunday). Our church is right by your house (at the corner of Wells Branch and Wells Port), and it would be no trouble to stop by with it (leave it on your porch or whatever).

congratulations mom. that is quite the experience. but i didn’t doubt you for a second. i could tell by your tenacity, every day.

i’ve told hundreds of my regular walking moms, about you and your continued walk, in your late stages. i have talked to many past due moms in the six years i’ve been on the trail, but you will always hold the record of the latest continued walk. i’m very proud of you, and the only thing left for me to do, is play a song for arlo when he is ready to climb up. here are a couple, of my 90 music videos, that i did with babies from the trail:

oh jordan. just read this now. you amaze me. in every way. i’m so happy for you that you are able to see that so many aspects of this experience were so positive and empowering. you and arlo are fighters and this is just the beginning of what, i know, will be a beautiful relationsip. he’s the perfect piece to your now complete and amazing family. i love you all like the family that i have chosen for you all to be.
